The heat is finally warming up Los Angeles, and I’m super excited about it! When it comes to my home decor, I try to liven it up every season by bringing in the elements of each in order to be reminded of the change and embrace it more positively. Although California is pretty blessed year round with sunshine and blue skies, it’s nice to bring in the seasons when you can. Being a Taurus, I’m a spring baby, and nothing makes me happier then a warm ray of sun hitting my face when I wake up, or having a cup of coffee outdoors to soak it all in person.
I love a light and airy space no matter the season. Making it warmer throughout the fall and winter seasons is much easier then trying to brighten up a space come spring and summer. I love a lot of whites, neutrals, and pops of a single cohesive color throughout my space. For someone of similar taste, I advise subtle changes that make enough of a statement in the home to change the feel from season to season without jeopardizing a huge makeover.
That being said, here are some tips and tricks I like to incorporate in my home in order to bring this season to life:

A simple piece like this console table allows you to use decor seasonally without having to change furniture pieces for the seasons to come. Wicker baskets like the ones in this photo are a huge way to bring this spring into full swing. Take your warm and fuzzy throw blankets off your couch (you know, the one’s that you’ve been Netflixing in every night over the winter break?) and toss them in here until the next binge-watching season.
Pillows are a quick and easy way to change the season in your home for a more spring/summer feel. Pastels, light blues, and shades of white are a great color combination that can stay relatively neutral but still bring a fresh look to the space. I suggest maybe a few solid colors or some texture accent pillows. I would stay away from bold prints or floral pieces in your indoor space. You want pieces that you can dress up and down depending on your current furniture. Pillows for your patio are much easier to get away if you’re craving a bolder look!

PLANTS AND ACCESSORIES
You’ll be spending much more time outdoors during the warmer season, so bringing some decor pieces to your outside living will be a great way to incorporate the season without trying too hard (or breaking the bank with putting in some new landscaping). I have an obsession with HomeGoods or TJ Maxx. They are super affordable, and have some amazing accent pieces that are always in season for your home. Water pitchers, faux plants, or changing your pots are always a good option for color and brightness. The barn doors you see above are a sweet & southern way to soften your front porch if laid in a corner on a bench with some small manageable greenery.

You can also add fairy lights for those warm summer nights ahead! They bring such a warm and sexy environment to the indoor/outdoor space. I believe in fairy lights all year round, but I incorporate them in different ways throughout the seasons. For the warmer climate, I usually enjoy filling them inside mason jars and putting them as a centerpiece outdoors for a beautiful glow after sunset. You can even cascade them over some potted plants and throw some pillows on the floor for those cozy stargazing nights.
